GUBENAV

High-Dynamics 100Hz GPS/GNSS & IMU Sensor
A sophisticated 100Hz GNSS positioning sensor

GUBENAV generates the highest accuracy of GPS position and inertial platform through sensor fusion. It provides extremely precise geographic coordinates, ground speed, and heading angle via the CAN 2.0 protocol.

Uncompromising Precision at 100Hz

GUBENAV is a cutting-edge vehicle positioning and dynamics sensor designed for professionals requiring ultra-fast and reliable telemetry data. Seamlessly integrating a high-sensitivity GPS-GNSS module with an advanced 6-axis IMU, GUBENAV uses sophisticated sensor fusion algorithms to interpolate and calculate precise geographic coordinates, velocity, and orientation angle with an update rate of just 100 Hz. Additionally, GUBENAV provides data from three accelerometers (X, Y, and Z) and three gyroscopes (X, Y, and Z).

Based on a robust CAN 2.0 architecture, GUBENAV bridges the gap between raw spatial data and usable telemetry, making it the perfect spatial awareness hub for your network.

Where it finds application

Engineered for multiple uses

Thanks to its flexible CAN protocols and rugged IP67 design, the GUBENAV is highly adaptable to a wide range of demanding professional sectors:

  • Motorsport & Vehicle Dynamics: Capture high-speed trajectory, lean angles, and acceleration data for advanced track analysis and vehicle development.

  • Precision Agriculture: Perfectly suited for tractor guidance systems, implement tracking, and autonomous farming equipment using the NMEA2000 standard.

  • Industrial & Heavy Machinery: Monitor the precise movement, speed, and orientation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), excavators, and industrial robotics in harsh environments.

  • Laboratory & R&D: Ideal for any testing environment requiring synchronized, high-frequency spatial tracking alongside other analog/digital sensor arrays.

The GUBENAV (GPS 100Hz sensor + 6 axis IMU) comes with the free GUBELLINI DataStudio suite, the software that enables full management of the device. By connecting the device via USB, you can access the setup screen. As shown in the reference image, the “Sensor configuration ” panel allows you to set all the parameters to fit GUBENAV to your needs.

Configuration of device
  • CAN ID: GUBENAV divides the data transmission into 4 distinct CAN identifiers (e.g. 100, 101, 102, 103 in HEX format). These fields allow you to customize the ID on which the CAN packets are transmitted (so as to avoid conflicts with other control units already present on your CAN network).

  • CAN ID format: Select the identifier format between 11 bits (Standard) or 29 bits (Extended), depending on the requirements of your logger (e.g. GUBELOG-03 or third – party devices ).

  • Baud rate: Select the communication speed of the CAN network (e.g., 1Mbps for high-density networks). Make sure all devices on the bus share the same speed.

  • Transmission type : Select the output protocol. Selecting GUBENAV activates the optimized proprietary protocol. (Alternatively, select NMEA2000 if required by the application.)

  • Transmission frequency: Sets the CAN packet update rate (e.g. 50Hz, or up to the maximum value of 100Hz depending on the load allowed by the bus).

  • Vehicle type : Define the vehicle type (e.g. Car) to optimize the internal “ sensor fusion” filters based on the expected dynamics (car, motorbike, boat).

  • Read/Write Buttons: Use the lower right buttons to read the current configuration from the device or write the new configuration to the GUBENAV’s permanent memory.

Housing

The MICROLOG housing is made from PA12+35%GF nylon, a high-quality material with excellent mechanical properties that can withstand shocks and vibrations. It is ideal for use in harsh environments.
